Diabetes is a condition in which sugar levels in you blood are high. When you eat, some of you food is broken down into sugar. Insulin helps sugar move from your blood into your cells. Your cells need sugar for energy. Sugar from food make you blood sugar levels go up. Insulin lowers your blood sugar level by helping sugar move from our blood into cells.
Types of diabetes
- Type 1 - The body make little or or insulin.
- Type 2 - your body prevents the insulin it does make from working right.
- Gestational - high blood sugar during preganacy.
